“Create a bottle design that symbolizes how people around the world will connect in the next 140 years”

We covered already numerous Hineken design competitions. This one , we must say, although a bit “off the track” has a kicker prize .
The guys at Heineken® nailed it – this is exactly what young designers need .
not money – but WORLD WIDE EXPOSURE.

so, what´s  this about ?
in anticipation of our 140th anniversary, Heineken® is inviting
creative talent from all around the world to come together through
social media, design your vision for the future Heineken® bottle and
connect your design with someone else’s. Each connected pair of designs
will be entered into the competition to become the next Limited Edition
bottle.
the winning bottle – made up of two connected designs – will be part of
an exclusive, 140th anniversary Limited Edition pack, available around
the world from december 2012.
mark van iterson, Global head of design at Heineken®, says: “since we
frst launched Heineken® in 1873, our premium beer has continued to
bring people together over social occasions. so, what better way to
inspire the design for our future bottle than to tap into the exciting
world of social connectivity? the Limited Edition challenge provides
the opportunity for anyone to discover their ultimate creative match
and design a unique part of Heineken®’s future.”

So, what do you need to do ?
create a bottle design that symbolizes how people around the world will
connect in the next 140 years.
Each design is one half of a bottle, so you must connect your design
with someone else’s to create a complete bottle entry. the result is
two designs – by two people – connected in one bottle.
Let your imagination run wild and impress us with your vision for thefuture. Will we be able to enjoy a virtual Heineken with friends? Willwe teleport to our favorite bars? or will old rituals get a revival?
What do you think will be the social network of choice? surprise us.

Enlighten us! the future is, quite literally, in your hands.
your design is one half of a bottle. since the competition is all about connections, you must connect your design with that of another designer to create a complete bottle design.

through your partnership, you could create the next Limited Edition bottle.
